George Lucas, once a God to nerds around the world, has become their whipping boy thanks to the terrible Star Wars prequels. Now, someone has explained what led Lucas astray in the delightful video, “George Lucas Strikes Back.”
Of course what makes this so great is the mixing of references to Star Wars and other Lucas related projects with Oldboy‘s premise, in which a man is kidnapped and imprisoned for fifteen years (they even refer to it visually with a few scenes).
Is it sad that I wish this is what really happened to Lucas? I wish he’d make another American Graffiti or THX-1138, but that ship has passed.
